MADISON, Wis. - Christmas is approaching and Batch Bakehouse is busy filling holiday orders.
Retail manager Jaycee Haas said the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are the craziest time of the year for the bakery.
"Christmas is actually a little less busy than Thanksgiving for us, but we do a little more variety, and we see more walk-ins all throughout December, because people are celebrating holidays all month long," Haas said.
Batch Bakehouse creates a special holiday menu for people to choose from, including traditional items such as black forest cake.
Haas said having a menu makes it easier for them to fill orders during the holiday season. Baked goods they sell normally are also available.
Although the holiday season is hectic for Batch Bakehouse, Haas said the staff still enjoys it.
"It is stressful because we do it every year, and we know it's coming and it kind of is something hanging over our head," Haas said. "When it actually happens, and we pull it off every year, it's exciting."
Batch Bakehouse will be open on the Dec. 23 and Dec. 24 for customers to pick up orders and grab a sweet treat.
