Pop-up bakery returns to the Pearl and will include a Saturday brunch menu - mySA

The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio, is returning to the Pearl this week with its annual pop-up café, offering sweet and savory treats from its bakery. Making this year's pop-up even sweeter is a brunch menu on Saturdays.

The café, which is student-run, will serve up baked goods and more starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The pop-up will operate until April 16 and will be located inside Savor Restaurant at 200 East Grayson Street, Suite 117, according to a news release.

Since 2011, the café has given culinary students hands-on experience in the daily operation of an establishment. Students will operate both the dining room and bake shop of the café under the direction of professors and master chefs.

The café will cook up breakfast and lunch from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The menu will include items such as soups, salads, sandwiches, and pastries from Europe, Latin America and Mexico.

The Saturday menu will include brunch favorites like waffles, french toast and chilaquiles. Mimosas, Bloody Marys and draft beer will also be available.
